Yeah! I figured out how to put a video on my blog! Now you can all see one of the loves of my life. My orange kitty! He was just TOO CUTE yesterday when he crawled in the box from my new Lexi Barnes laptop bag. He decided to sleep there for a bit (ohh those pics are cute too I should show you one) and then I caught him on video as he was getting ready to get out!

Have you heard about this? American Airlines is going to begin charging $15 just to check a piece of luggage when you travel! Each WAY! I can’t believe it!!! As the article I linked to points out – elite frequent flyers and those who buy full fare seats won’t have to pay. Nor will business travelers have to pay for carry on bags. But if you are a family who has scrimped and saved to take that long planned vacation to grandmas or Sturgis or something and you want to take 2 bags each you will now have to pay $15 for the first bag for everyone and $25 for the second – A grand total of $320 just to get your luggage there! This REALLY makes me angry! I mean they raise ticket charges because of fuel prices but then adding this charge too! Which effects mostly the non-wealthy traveler or the one who can’t write it off for business! Plus don’t the think about how much more crap people are going to try to carry on with them now!?!GRRRRRRR!
Today while driving I heard a snippet on NPR for a show that will air on PBS tonight entitled Depression: Out of the Shadows. It seems to be on at 9pm in most places. It sounds pretty intersting to me partially because of what I do for a living, partially because I understand the feelings of depression and in general because I just like watching these kinds of things. I also feel strongly that more people need to be educatied about depression. So if you can – pop on over and watch it!
The weekend and the password

The weekend in Seattle was lovely. It was lovely in Portland too. We drove there for a quick trip and then back to Seattle in time to see Girlyman at the tractor. They were great as usual! That’s all I have to say for now – but if you do want the password to the post below just leave a comment here and let me know! I am likely to be liberal with giving it out… just not to any clients!

I am sitting at my desk – tired and ready to go home but not quite there yet. I pushed my curtian back to take a look outside. I know it has been warm out there – all day clients have been coming in exclaiming about the weather and how the air conditioning in the office feels. In a way I am sad I missed the heat but I am also glad that I was in somewhere cool. As I type the sun is setting. I can see the purples blues and pinks in the sky. Birds are flying and the trees are a bright color of green. I can even hear the birds chirping over the noise of the traffic. But the most beautiful part is the sky – I can’t see the sun just he colors of the sunset – and the moon. Not quite full but getting close. It is bright high up in the sky. The last two days have made me extremely thankful for my city. Thankful for my life and the beautiful changing of the seasons. This is a nice feeling to have in general but especially nice when I know that I tend to get bummed out in the springtime. I’m looking forward to tomorrow for so many reasons. And that is a nice feeling to have.
Today was a beautiful day in Seattle! The sun came out and it warmed up to about 80 degrees. I found myself smiling just from feeling the sun shine down on my face. I was able to drive through the arboretum and over the floating bridge with my sunroof open and it was just spectacular! As one of my office mates said – it was a day that makes us all want to live here! I noticed the beauty in even small things – the bush as you walk to my office was filled with white flowers – they reminded me of when I was a kid and would pick the flowers in our back yard and pull out the pollen covered part on the inside and make them into little boats to float down the creek behind our house. That’s a memory I haven’t had in a long time.
There are other memories and thoughts I really want to share here – but blogger doesn’t allow users to password protect just particular posts – It’s all or nothing. This frustrates me and makes me think I may have to move to password protecting the whole thing. Blah!
Calliope is working on a new header for my blog and I am SO.EXCITED! Stay tuned!!!
Today we stopped on by the Blue Onion Bistro for some breakfast. It’s a great place with yummy food and so cute. The coffee is strong (Studly boyfriend really likes this but I could go either way). We both had chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast. Umm and we started with a yummy cinnamon roll to split! :O
It was super good… and I still have half mine in the fridge for some later time!!!
Free Grocery List Maker has me hooked! I was searching for somewhere that would let me check off the groceries I wanted to buy and print a list and happened to find them. The coolest thing is that you can have your partner/roommate/kid/etc set up to create a list that automatically syncs with yours. Then if you are the one going to shop you know what everyone needs/wants. Even if you double up (say both people check they want eggs) it is smart- it knows this and only enters them once! Pretty cool!
